Aguilar studied BA in Arts of Communications, and a MMR, Masters of Marketing Reseach , from Anahuac University (Mexico), and a second MLA, Master on Visual Arts, Film, and Photography at Harvard University (Cambridge). At Harvard she was one of the first Latin Americans to win the prize-Annamae and Allan R. Crite Prize- for the"Singular Dedication to Learning the Arts." Thesis: Renaissance Perception of Color in Painting from the Perspective of Twentieth-Century Physiological Science, with thesis director John R. Stilgoe.

In the year 2004 she was selected by the international jury of Artiade as a cultural ambassador of art for Mexico in the ARTIADE/Olympics of Visual Arts during the Olympic games in Athens, supported by CONACULTA. Additionally she was winner of the prize "Outstanding Mexicans" for culture, granted by Mexicana Airlines, and Expansion Group.

Aguilar has been invited to participate in several art festival like BAC :: International Contemporary Art festival of Barcelona, IX Florence Biennale, Cultural Center of Bejing, among others. Aguilar has won numerous prizes and grants, Internationally, for her works. Now a days she is a project manager and art director of different experimental and creative programs.
